Workforce Training & Development

Structured training for every person on your site.

CPC Academy is Commercial Property Cleaning's internal workplace training program, open to every employee from their first day. It is structured around the competency areas covered by the national Certificate III in Cleaning Operations qualification, and it is assessed: staff sit a marked assessment and then demonstrate the work on site, signed off by their supervisor.

CPC Academy is not a nationally recognised qualification and CPC is not a Registered Training Organisation. Read the full statement.

Why it matters to you

What structured training changes on your site

Most cleaning is taught on the job, by whoever is on shift, with nothing written down. That works until the person who knew how to do it leaves.

  1. Consistency across sites and shifts

The same method is taught the same way whether it is a night shift in Cairns or a day shift in Melbourne, so the standard does not depend on who happens to be rostered.

  2. Reduced incident and compliance risk

Staff work through WHS duties, hazard control, chemical handling and infection control before they are working unsupervised on your premises, rather than learning it after something goes wrong.

  3. Fewer new faces on your site

People with a development pathway stay longer. Lower turnover means your facilities team deals with cleaners who already know your building, your access rules and your escalation contacts.

  4. A workforce investing in itself

Every employee gets a genuine, structured pathway to build new skills and work toward supervisory roles, not just a job description. People who are progressing bring more care and consistency to the site they work on.

Program coverage

What the program covers

Grouped by the risks a facility carries, rather than by our internal module numbering. Not every area applies to every site, and staff work through the areas relevant to where they are assigned.

Safety & compliance

  • Hazard identification and risk control
  • PPE selection, use and limitations
  • Chemical safety and Safety Data Sheet interpretation
  • Incident reporting and emergency response

Infection control & sensitive environments

  • Chain of infection
  • Standard and transmission-based precautions
  • Correct use of TGA-registered disinfectants and contact times
  • PPE donning and doffing sequence
  • Body fluid spill response
  • Clinical waste and sharps handling

Relevant to: healthcare, aged care, laboratories, veterinary and education facilities.

Working in occupied & secure spaces

  • Occupant communication and knock-and-identify procedure
  • Privacy obligations and confidentiality on client premises
  • Key and access card control
  • Restricted and controlled area protocols
  • After-hours and security procedures

Relevant to: student accommodation, defence, government and commercial tenancies.

Cleaning technique & asset protection

  • Surface identification and correct chemical-to-surface matching
  • Hard floor maintenance and restoration
  • Carpet and soft floor care
  • Glass and window cleaning
  • Wet areas and amenities
  • Safe operation and maintenance of cleaning machinery

Environmental responsibility

  • Water and chemical conservation
  • Environmentally preferable product selection
  • Waste segregation and recycling
  • Regional environmental protocols
  • Alignment to CPC's ISO 14001 environmental management system

Professional conduct & communication

  • Presentation and conduct on client sites
  • Responding to complaints from occupants
  • Fault and maintenance reporting
  • Escalation pathways
  • Working effectively across a culturally and linguistically diverse team

Supervision & leadership

  • Shift briefing and daily coordination
  • Quality inspection and scoring
  • Leading and inducting a cleaning team
  • Client communication and contract KPIs

Voluntary advanced pathway for staff progressing toward supervisory roles. Additional practical requirements apply.

How the program works

Structured, assessed, and verified on site

The distinction that matters is between training a contractor can describe and training a contractor actually puts into practice. Each of the five steps below builds on the last.

  1. Available to every employee, at any time

Delivered self-paced through CPC's online learning portal. No employee is excluded on the basis of role, site or shift, and nobody waits for a scheduled course to run.

  2. Structured content, not ad-hoc instruction

Each module combines written learning, knowledge checks throughout, and workplace scenarios drawn from real situations on CPC sites, rather than generic industry theory.

  3. Assessed

Each module ends with an assessment requiring a minimum pass mark. Questions are drawn at random from a larger bank, so no two attempts are the same paper and the assessment cannot be passed by memorising it.

  4. The part most programs skip

    Practically verified

Passing the assessment is not enough to complete a module. The employee must also perform the task on their own site and have it observed and signed off by their supervisor. That requirement is built into the portal as a mandatory step, not a policy that relies on someone remembering it.

  5. Tracked

Each employee's progress is tracked internally as they move from one module to the next, so their development builds on what came before rather than starting over at a new site or under a new supervisor.

Accreditation

Certified management systems

CPC holds three ISO certifications through Equal Assurance, a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body. CPC Academy is one of the inputs those systems rely on.

  • ISO 45001 certification mark

    ISO 45001

    Occupational Health & Safety

Training and competency development feeds directly into CPC's safety management system.

  • ISO 14001 certification mark

    ISO 14001

    Environmental Management

Environmental content covers waste segregation, chemical conservation and product selection in line with the system.

  • ISO 9001 certification mark

    ISO 9001

    Quality Management

A documented, repeatable method taught the same way to every employee is what makes quality consistent across sites.

  • JAS-ANZ accreditation mark

    JAS-ANZ

    Accredited certification

CPC's certifications are issued by Equal Assurance under JAS-ANZ accreditation.
